FEE NO FEE – $100 INCENTIVE

Registrants must complete the 2-hour course to be eligible for the incentive.  Please note participation must be voluntary – if an employer requires an employee to attend this program, that time may be compensable, which NECA does not reimburse. Participants who previously completed the February 2024 NFPA 70E class are not eligible for the incentive.

CAPACITY Class size is limited to 50 and registrants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. You will receive a confirmation email. If the class size becomes full, you will be notified and kept on a waitlist for cancellations and/or future classes.

Who Should Attend?

This would be a class for a qualified person to stay up to date with the latest industry standards and best practices.

Course Description

  • Overview of newest Version of the NFPA 70E: Understanding the purpose and scope of the standard.
  • Changes and Updates: Reviewing any recent revisions or updates to NFPA 70E and how they impact workplace safety.
  • Electrical Hazards: Identifying and assessing electrical hazards in the workplace, including shock, arc flash, and arc blast.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Reviewing proper selection, use, and maintenance of PPE according to NFPA 70E requirements.
  • Electrical Safety Procedures: Discussing safe work practices, including lockout/tagout procedures, proper equipment operation, and isolation methods.
  • Arc Flash Analysis: Understanding the principles of arc flash analysis, incident energy calculations, and arc flash boundary determination.
  • Energized Work: Addressing when and how to perform energized electrical work safely, including justification and risk assessment.
  • Safety Training: Discussing the importance of ongoing safety training for electrical workers and supervisors.
  • Case Studies and Real-Life Scenarios: Analyzing real-life incidents and discussing lessons learned to enhance understanding and application of NFPA 70E principles.

John Vincent is a dedicated safety professional with over twenty-three years of experience in safety management, electrical safety, life safety, emergency response, hazardous materials, and regulatory compliance. He has a diverse background in fire service, law enforcement, accident investigation, commercial diving, and emergency response.
